Default Copyright in EXIF

I've seen a few time's where there is copyright info in EXIF data for photos.
It would say the artist's name and stuff like that.
Is this done with a piece of software? Maybe you have to shoot in RAW? I'm not sure on how to do this.

Thanks for your help,

You can just use the EOS Utility software that comes with your Canon cameras - I just opened it up and typed my name in with the camera connected to the computer.

Some cameras can be set to add it. Editors such as Lightroom are probably the most common method. Nice thing about LR is you can create a metadata templates for different purposes then apply the selected template to many images.

Will look this up as it would be the best solution for someone on the go all the time!

I know I can add a message in the EXIF from the menus in my D80, and I believe every model up from there has the same.

Ditto, but no clue for Canons. I usually embed a copyright notice and my email. But, you could just as easily do this with some sort of external program designed to edit exif.

I do this all in Photomechanics when I add all the keywords and fill out the IPTC caption fields.

Just keep in mind... as easily as you can add © info in to your exif, someone else can take it out - - if you're worried, watermark.

I use EOS Util to add the info into my camera... (Or I used to, I don't bother now, but when I do I use Lightroom, on import, to add my details to selected images)

I know this isn't really what you asked, but just helping out where I can :-)
