Hi everyone. I'm a new owner of the Canon 550D, which I bought just yesterday. I haven't had the time to sit down with it, but I'm just looking around for things to take pictures of. The most I've been able to do with it right now is change the shutter speed and see what happens in different conditions of lights. I have to say, this is really an awesome camera.

Congrats on the new camera. Hope to see some pics soon. Good luck figuring things out.

Is this your first camera? I guess so...
I would suggest you start to learn how to properly clean camera and lens. I found many people do it wrong and break the expensive lens all the time. -Santacruz

Lesson 0: how to hold the camera. It was in that part of the manual you skipped that has the idiotic idiot-proofing and "here's how you plug in the charger" instructions.
Seriously. You've no idea the number of newbies I see doing it wrong whenever I go out for a shoot at the zoo. Your left hand should be supporting the majority of the camera/lens combination weight, not lying on top of the lens.
