[QUOTE=SusanH1970;981830]Hi and welcome to DPS!
Honestly, that's a lot of photos to go through. If you're looking for detailed feedback you might want to choose one and post it in the appropriate critique section. was hoping people would look at my gallery and pick one they like and comment... or pick one they dislike and explain and offer advice

There were a couple of interesting photos, but for the most part they are just pictures. Main subject in the center of the frame, horizons right through the middle of the frame. Really just pictures of someone's vacation. Sorry to disappoint, but that is what I saw.....
How to do better? Rarely is it a good thing to put the horizon smack through the middle of the frame. Move it up or down into the upper or lower third of the frame, and make absolutely sure that the horizon is level. Try placeing the main subject anywhere but in the middle of the frame. There have been times when I've purposfully cut off part (a corner, maybe) of the subject to add "tension" to the image. Try laying down and trip the shutter. Climb up and shoot down. Get closer, get farther away. What I see in your pictures is you standing there and recording a scene. Get creative! Chris

I don't mean to sound unfriendly, but maybe you should ask yourself "what if everyone wanted advice this way?" To tell you the truth, I feel this is just a way to get around the guidelines of the critique section: post one image per thread and start no more than one thread per day. And ask questions. You pick the photo, you ask the questions and let people help you. This way you're (probably unintentionally) asking the good people of dPS to spend more time helping you than others who follow the guidelines. And everyone's time is finite. |

You have some nice photos there. The Eden Project ones are very colourful. One thing to bear in mind is to make sure you really fill the frame. You seem to have alot of empty space. Just quickly scan the view finder for any unwelcome details before pressing the shutter
