How many people will catch the Title Reference?
![]() SO it's been a while. Lots have happened and I'm busier then a one armed wallpaper hanger. Brief last 15 months. Daughter is growing up like a weed. Wife was pregnant last July and we lost the baby at 7 weeks. Took a good hard look at life and came away with a new prospective. We didn't give up and am please to announce that she is 30 weeks now, due June 26th. I shot a buddies wedding the 1st week of March, brought along my D50 and borrowed the wife's D60 (it's the least she could do since I bought it for her, ha ha). As a special bonus I have a buddies that owns a sign shop and the wedding was very close to the site. I had 90 mins to kill before the reception, so I went and had a image printed. I returned the SD card to my wife's camera and put it & laptop in my truck. I most ALWAYS lock my truck, mostly because I have Motormouth on my truck & like hearing Rock Top play every time I click the little lock button on my key. I walked 500 feet away to get my buddy some kettle corn, keep in mind the parking space I parked in was 8 feet from his business door and it was 1:15 in the afternoon. After I returned from getting the corn, the print was finished, I framed it and took off to reception. Once there realized the D60 was GONE! Yep, someone entered my truck and took my wife's D60 with my SB600 attached. I have a freaking thief!!! So I feel like crap, 1) I lost all the zoom lens images from the wedding. 2) I lost my wife's camera, she uses daily to photograph the 17 month old. 3) Pissed at myself for not locking the truck. I'd been saving for MONTHS & MONTHS, to get a D90. Well the D90 fund was depleted to replace my wife's camera. Upgraded her to the D3000. She loves it & after watching the DVD I've finally got her off AUTO!! Yeah me!!! I've been blessed with a few large pool jobs recently and have been building the D90 fund back up. The wife asked me how much was need for the D90. I said like $600. So what did she do. The $500/month she gets from her dad's inheritance she gave to me so I could order my camera. My wife rocks!!! Well, Mr UPS man came and I charged the battery. With a charged battery and a brand new 16GB card, it rode around with me all day. Wanting the the 1st picture to be a special one, I decided to wait until I got home from work & could take a picture of the 2 of 3 of my loves, the wife and daughter. Glad to be back, and sorry for the Novel! |

Congats on the baby! Sorry to hear about the troubles, but sounds like things are getting better for you.
Congats on the D90 too! I just got mine a few weeks ago and I'm loving it, I almost never put it down. That sucks that your wife's camera was stolen, but hey, she got an upgrade, you got an upgrade....... The only ones who came out worse were the ones whose wedding pictures were on the stolen camera. Well, I hope you and your family stay on top for a while, sounds like you've had enough bumps in the road for quite a while. I look forward to seeing photos of the new baby!

Thanks Suzanne, & sorry for sticking that song in your head, it could have been worse. I could have said "Dance your cares away, Worry's for another day. Let the music play, Down at Fraggle Rock." |
