I'm just reposting this from the "Photography" interest forum on my work's Intranet (I work for the Environment Agency):

A friend of mine is senior lecturer in biology at Gloucestershire University and has just launched a national project to track the distribution of bees across the UK.

I am trying to get him as much exposure as possible to help provide a large dataset. So if you are interested at all - all it involves is uploading photos of bees to flickr and geotagging them - then please check out the links below;

If you're out and about and fancy taking photos of bees (I haven't checked the links, but I'm assuming it's all kinds of bees, not just honey bees), then give the guy a helping hand with a couple of geotagged shots. Remember to be careful though - don't go poking hives with a stick to get the bees to come out and pose for you...
