I'll ditto the comment on when the yearbook needs the pics. I'm the Yearbook Adviser and the most irritating thing is to have a senior late with their senior pics. (The only reason I even give them any leeway is that we're a very small school. Most schools simply don't put your pic in if you're late with it!) The deadline for senior pics will vary from school to school depending on when you receive your yearbook. (End of school year vs.following school year)
I'd suggest you ask your friend to find out when the pics will be due, then take the pics as soon as school begins. If you're taking them for her, you might want to do more than one session to give her more variety. Also, make sure she asks if she needs a "cap and gown" pic. That might determine when you can do her session. Although most take their pics in the fall, I've had students take their pics the spring prior to senior year. The difference? Spring senior pics showed seniors in lighter spring clothing... fall or winter pics obviously showed them in jackets and scarves. Maybe she can make a choice due to her preferred clothing? I suppose the best answer is: whenever she wants to take them with the caveat that they're in before the due date for the yearbook. |
