Default Need help looking for my first Light Studio Kit.

Looking for my first starter studio light kit and getting a bit fustrated. Messing around in YouTube, I found this great kit and tutorial and how easy it was to set up. It even came with a remote and carry bag. The brand is called Opus, but I think you can only get it Canada. I looked on their Website, Ebay and Amazon and can't seem to get it.

Well, what got my attention was the price and how everyting I need to start came in the bag. I know that's there probaly a whole bunch out there way better than this but do they come with all this came with and close to the price range? I think as a starter light kit for me, I wouldn't mind investing in it. But I don't know where to look. I don't have the $350 that Alien Bee as asking for a stand, a light and carry bag.

Well, here's the video from Morris Studio to see what I'm ranting about. Or maybe I got it all wrong.

Check this out.
The folks on strobist.com rave about these kits. The umbrellas are a little on the cheapish side, but I hear they work very well for the money.

I have two sets (4 lights) of the Opus brand as shown in the vid posted. The biggest argument against the brand is the availability of accessories. But the kits are pretty complete with barndoors, snoot with gels and grid for both the doors and the snoot. having two kits give me double of everything and a bit of flexability with the accessories. I'd say they are a good value and I've been happy with mine. Softboxes of various sizes are available too. I have one 36x48 and may add a 24x36 sometime. The only thing that comes to mind that's not available would be grids for the softboxes.
Can't comment on the Canada only thing. I'm sure there would be better deals to be found state side. Check out cowboy studio for a cheap kit.

No problem! Thanks for the add! You have some really nice work! I like the urban style, just can't do it much where I live, in cow country!
