Default CF Card Errors...

I'm not sure if this is an actual card error or a camera error, but I wanted to run this by you guys to see if I'm right.

I recently got the CF card error where the image wasn't written to the card correctly. I'm pretty sure this happened because I took a shot and reviewed it a bit too quickly before it was written to the card. That image and a few others on the card were lost, but I managed to get most of them back.

So I decided to put my review time to 4 seconds so I could see the image without hitting the preview button. However, I was taking consecutive shots yesterday and it happened again. This time, I think I took another shot before the first shot had been written completely to the camera. This shouldn't be an issue, but I think the fact that the first image was still in the auto review mode and being written to the card while I took another shot might've messed it up.

So, in short, I think the common denominator is the image review/pressing the review button while the image is being written. So should I just shut off the auto-review completely and review it myself once the image has been written? This is all on a Canon 5D.

Any thoughts much appreciated.

What youre describing should have no effect on the camera writing to the card. What kind of card is it?

It's a Lexar Professional 4GB. I format it after every shoot as well so I'm not sure what the problem is if it's not reviewing the image before it's completely written to the card. The camera seizes up and I have to reinsert the battery, and the image it errors on can't be played back on the camera or be transferred to the computer.

You could try using another CF card to see if it's the camera or the card.

It's best to reformat in camera. Could that be it?
