I am looking for info. or a website, on how to build my own waterproof case for my Canon Rebal XS DSLR camera.

Any ideas or suggestions?

One doesn't build one, one buys one.

I'm with Os on this one. I love DIY, but sometimes it will cost just as much to make a poor product, or more to get something even functional... And an underwater case for expensive gear is not something I would want to mess around with.

A few ziplock bags

I would really just purchase a body, any DIY project just won't be water tight enough while still maintaining the ability to modify camera settings. You need the precision for water tight camera enclosures, something only injection molding or other industrial manufacturing techniques can produce.

Buy one. If it fails you hopefully have a warranty to fall back on. If you make it, aside from the points mentioned above, all you can do is give yourself a harsh, disappointed look in the mirror.
