I took this of an 80mm Model of a Border Riever I'd made awhile ago. I have to admit, after several months making the thing look as authentic as possible, I was really pleased by how realistic it looks in the PP'd pic. Oddly satisfying, bringing a toy to life, I can fully understand the appeal.

Dodge's photo looks pretty cool. I can understand photographing a toy and working with it to make it look real.

But I really don't get the fascination with lego figures and a few other toy figures that several people have. I mean...white background, toy figure, snap the pic............? I really must be missing something because some people really get googoogaga over them.

Cool! So I'm not crazy to think it is OK to photograph them! I've the original Action Man figure somewhere. I'll see what I get and post it in Critique section.

Check out some of the stop motion videos using legos on you tube. they are quite fascinating! The time it takes to do some of that stuff just seems over the top!

Thumbs up

I was always facinated by the "I spy" books when I was a kid (and still am) I always wanted to be able to build worlds with just a tiny bit of stuff, go into dream land. Those books are absolutely amazing when you look at them and see how they all fit together, have themes. One amazing book is that each picture is going deeper, more focused on one part of the picture before. Like, fist you see a town, next page is a storefront from that town you saw on the previous page, then it's going into the store, then it's just looking at a game from the store.
I'd love to be able to do all that stuff, write stories and stuff with toys as the illustrations!
Hopefully when I have the time and the skill to do it, I will.

Enjoy shooting!

Default Toys...

"Fallout 3" Vault Boy

Vault-Boy is always ready for a close up! And my Husbands' toy collection is a great stand in for playing with camera settings

Found the Vintage Action man! Found some cool clothes and weapons as well.

Going to post something as soon as I can figure out how to make soft box out.
