I saw one of those up on the blue ridge parkway today.
A couple were kicked back in lawn chairs snapping pictures of a peregrine falcon riding the air currents.
At first glance, I thought he had a telescope!..lol

Question

TWO QUESTIONS? Do they REALLY WORK? And just where are such monsters found? BY 'work' I mean do they produce SERIOUS quality?

Looks like an el-cheapo setup to me........compared to the Robert Hanashiro rig used to capture Barry Bond's record home run.

"For home run #756, USA Today staff photographer Robert Hanashiro was able to achieve 30 frames-per-second by constructing a three-camera sequence rig consisting of Canon Mark III digital camera bodies (10 fps each); three 600mm f/4 lenses; two sets of MultiMAX radio triggers and cords (plus 2 back ups); Slik “triple plate” (to mount three cameras/lenses); Gitzo Pro Studex tripod and tripod head; three 10-pound Boa sandbags."
