Default Anyone familiar w/S. Oregon - Old McKenzie Hwy ?

Went thru there about 20 years ago and was largely impressed - narrow winding road, with pine/fir/fern forest .. Beautifu area - looked to my left and there was a large patch of fern within some pines, scattered among an ancient lava flow - a deer jumped out and ran across the road - turned right and there was a waterfall - something that just screams for some great pictures.. Am going to the coast late July - since that road is narrow and winding, I'd like to have some turnoffs and stops planned ahead of time - anyone help with some ideas? -

Tks,
