Default website development

Hello, does anyone have any advice as to where to go and what to look for in a quest to start a website to promote my business and sell images.Looking for elegance as well as functionallity and would rather spend my time on my craft as opposed to web development.

Check with your local chamber of commerce. There's usually at least one web developer and often several that are members. If you don't have a CoC visit local businesses websites and see if they have a "designed by" credit somewhere, or email the company and find out who did their website.

Stay the heck away from flash!!!

I bought my domain name and had Wordpress installed. It works best for me. I have my blog on the opening page and then you can easily (I can't stress how easy Wordpress is) add pages.

To change the layout you literally just find one and press a few buttons and the program installs it for you.

Agreed... I'm a WordPress nut too.

If you are willing to make an investment in a layout. There are many themes designed for photogs

a little google search will turn up some good stuff.

Depending on how technically inclined you are, WordPress is a very good option. If you're not all that technically inclined WP can be even more frustrating because of all the people telling you how easy it is to use. If you don't want to hassle with the website, just hire someone to do it for you.
