Go to PhotoBiz - Online Proofing Solutions for Professional Photographers Set up is 125.00 and after that 26.00 per month. Check it out it is well worth it. I use it and set mine up and control everything. It is so easy. mine is justaclickbyaj.
I have had it up for only a couple of months and the calls and emails are coming in for photo shoots. It is so easy and professional at the same time.

+1000 on this.

If you don't know at a minimum what php and css are, don't try to do this yourself. If you want to go ahead, search the Wordpress codex for "the loop" and see if you understand that. It's the beginning.

You can buy some themes, but if you don't know how to customize them, your site will look exactly like everyone else who bought that theme and doesn't know how to customize it. And fi you want any functionality that isn't included, you're SOL -- back to paying someone to design for you.

Wordpress is really functional and versatile and well-supported, but not "easy" to custom design yourself if you have a specific vision in mind.

Default My recommendation

I would highly recommend using Show It for your photography website. They have a variety of templates that you can customize and its pretty much drag and drop. They also have SEO built it. Show It intergrates with other websites too. For instance, people can view my website from within Facebook. Your website can also be viewed on mobile phones, etc.
You can also get customized websites for your clients. And I understand within the next month, you will be able to intergrate your Show It site with a Wordpress blog (which I definitely recommend WordPress.)
And just so you know, they have a free version as well. Which is what I am using at the moment until I have more income to justify the monthly expense.
