Question Lightroom - what to backup

I'm just backing up my Lightroom - with memeo (autobackup program)

and i'm just wondering in my folder i have my

Master Catalog.lrcat - 95 megs
and then a folder - Master Catalog Previews.lrdata - 1.3 GB with 10,000 files and folders

Do i just need to backup the Master Catalog.lrcat - will this save all my settings that i put on each image or does it do that in the folder?

Thanks

Rick

Why not use LR's built in backup feature? It knows what needs to be backed up and what doesn't, and does a very good job of it.

Personally, I choose to backup my images only. I do this outside of LR and set all my catalogs to NEVER backup from LR.

I don't do a lot of post in LR so if some changes are lost to a corrupt catalog, I don't really care all that much. My photos are organized in such a way that I can find them with or without LR as well.

If you do a lot of changes in LR, then you need to backup your catalog. You can do away with the previews though as they take up space and don't store any of the change information. The downside is that you will have to wait for the preview to render again if you need to restore. Not that big of a deal though.

Ok not sure if you guys are understanding..

All i want to know is what files do i need to BACKUP that has all the settings if you change them in Lightroom..

I backup all MY photos already.. using other means..

I just want to know if its the Master Catalog.lrcat - 95 megs (Does this have all your photo settings?)
and then a folder - Master Catalog Previews.lrdata - 1.3 GB with 10,000 files and folders

(or does the the folder have them all but it does say previews)

I'm just starting out using LR - i'm use to photoshop you edit it save the file as a psd.. and vola you can re-open it up and have all you settings..

What file does that in the LR?????
