Default Excited about new lens - Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4.5 DC Macro

Anyone else has it? Looks sharper compared with Tamron/Consina/Opetka brand but little noisier. Is that your experience too?

I've got this same lens for my Canon XSi. I used to use it as my walk around but I found that the lens will not hold it's focal length if you point your camera to the ground. The lock feature only prevents the lens from extending from the shortest length. Other than that annoying issue I like the lens.

Thanks for replying. How about pointing up at a subject? I found it to be little slow.
