Just select your lens, download the PDF file, print and follow their directions for a lens hood on the cheap. Why would anyone want to do this, you ask? The author points out that a replacement lens hood for the Canon EF 600mm f4.0 costs a whopping $589 at B&H photo, but you can print it for free on his site. Even the name brand hoods for more popular lenses cost $30-50. Why not print your own and keep a couple extras in your bag for emergencies. Plus, they are fully biodegradable!

Looks like fun. I'm going to make the 50mm 1.4 hood. If it works well enough I'll try adding a locking tab and a slot. If I can make them reusable a set of these cut out of .030 black acrylic could save valuable room when I need to travel light.
Thanks for sharing!

I'm good with lens hoods, but I might have to try that pinhole camera just for farts and giggles.
