Default WAH!! Lenses are so over priced! WAAHH!!

.... Why are they so out of touch with their consumers!? Why can't they be like $10 each for ultra-fast focusing and ultra-low light lenses?! WAAHHH!!!

Canon Camera Museum | Technology Hall | Virtual Lens Plant

Watch the whole thing, all parts.

Oh wait........ there's actual work and effort that goes into it!

Makes sense.

Ha ha! That's great. Having a background in manufacturing and supply chain helps me understand a bit more and explaining it to others is usually eye opening for them. I think this is a great idea to illustrate how much goes into making something...anything. Take a look at your ketchup bottle and think about how much it took to make that simple everyday product. So of course it takes much more to manufacture more technically advanced items. Luckily, I've got a great local shop where I can get used lenses and save a buck without skimping on quality.

Watching the 500mm f/4 being put together is my favorite part.

You can buy lenses for under $10. I would be glad to sell anyone my Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 AF-S VR lens for $7.99, but you also have to take my D5000 for $3,500.

I remember building a 6" reflector (Newtonian) in high school from a kit.
I had to grind and polish manually.
It took me the whole of a semester...

Default Lenses

I know that they have to be expensive due to the production cost. But nifty fifty is an affordable fast lens. Well lets not talk about the build quality but the ability to take good images. As far as i can see the images produced are good enough. (one of my friends own it.) ive been wanting that lens too but the stores are out of stock. But surely i cant resist having one of those L series. Cant afford those lens, yet. Maybe one day.
