Default I'm developing a complex!

Everyday I upload photos onto SYS and get 0 replies. Are my photos really THAT bad. I mean I wouldn't mind if someone said "Nice photo" but to have 0 replies is slightly disconcerting .

Landscape/cityscape mostly but I think they should be moved to Other SYS at least then I'd get more comments like I used to.

Honestly, I skip SYS entirely. There's just too much there, and I don't feel like I could leave a less than glowing comment if I wanted. I'm not commenting on YOUR photos -- I'm saying why I skip the section (and therefore your photos) entirely. I suspect that there are a lot of people who do the same thing.

yeah, I do see your point and it's sad that you don't get the feedback you're after - but it's tricky to leave it how it was - the forum is growing at a pretty fast rate and SYS, as you know, was so very busy...

I'm open to suggestions that make SYS better and gets you the feedback you're after.

One place I notice you don't venture into all that often is Critique, have you considered popping an image in there and seeing what feedback you get?

Rachel i've stopped posting in there now as it really has become incredibly deflating. Photography is a hobby for me, a bit of fun and all that matters is if i like the shot or if the person ive taken the pictures for likes the shot.

Chin up.

Your pictures ARE good.

LOL, I'm so glad you posted this because I was thinking it was JUST ME!!! I have only uploaded a few, but have had the same outcome.

FWIW, I'll make more of an effort to comment on everything I take the time to look at. It's the same for all of us, I think....kind of a let down to see a lot of views and no comments.

Problem is the forum is just too damn fast even now its all been split out. Which is good for the site in so far as it shows a lot of people are using it and keen to learn, keen to share and enjoying their hobbies/professions.

Wonder if perhaps it could be split into pro's and amateurs/hobbyiests? Naturally the old timers and pro's get a lot of comments because, as you'd expect by the time spent with a camera, their shots will be good. Whereas the amateurs and hobbiests and n00bs - who argueably need more encouragement - can be pushed down the page pretty quickly because their shots aren't up there with the others.

Does that make sense

Also perhaps encourage a bit of critiquing in that area, constructive critiquing obviously, but it is a skill that both sides of the process can benefit from greatly.
