Default Insurance

I'm going to be travelling to Spain in August, and I am planning on taking my 1000d with me. However, I will be requiring insurance. Does anyone have any recommendations for photography insurance that would cover me in Europe? I'd really only need a one trip cover...

Thank you.

Camera equipment is usually too expensive to cover on travel insurance without paying a lot for it. You may be covered by your home & contents insurance - you would need to contact them to confirm this. However if you were to claim it might affect your premiums in the future.

I'd go with spe******t insurance - you can try PhotoGuard which are quite good. They have an option for EU cover. I don't think you'll find "single trip" insurance like you do with travel insurance but you can usually cancel it for a refund when you get back (although it's not that expensive to keep the cover)

I would specify camera and other electronics on my insurance, you don't want to get caught out trying to save pennies on the policy

Homeowners/renters is probably the most cost-effective way to go for hobbyists, but you definitely want it on your insurance schedule specifically, with serial numbers and prices.

Thank you, PhotoGuard looks like a viable option... I'll bear them in mind when the time comes.
