I read on another professional's blog that an iPad would actually be cheaper than getting another copy of his portfolio printed. Creating a portfolio can be expensive, let alone keeping it up to date with your current work.

After a few days of use I really have been enjoying the iPad and think there will be a lot of uses for phtogoraphers. Once some more apps are built I think it will be a very nice mobile device to showcase images, do some quick proofing and makes a great entertainment device. Email and web are very good and its so much more portable compared to a laptop, it is going to replace my laptop for most uses.

I wrote some a first look review here; Apple iPad first look

It's still a good tool for pictures, so there will be a market...

lol.

The iPad will be a unique tool as a mobile portfolio. With it's nice aluminum and sharp look's I think it will give people good first impressions if they walk up to your gallery booth.

They have a tethered shooting app for the ipod touch... well you plug the camera up to the computer and remote shoot using the ipod.

I think it would be a good presentation device but that's about it.

Hey nobody has ever thought about this. Although it has got some of the feature missing in it, but it would serve a great help towards the photographers.

How many other slim, shiny, aluminium tablets do you see around? I haven't seen any - thus I think it's unique.

Sure there may be some other similar products out there, but I don't think they have the appeal that the iPad has. Also just give it a few months and you'll have any app you'll ever think about :P
