Default Need help adding pics to my 7D

I need to add some photos back to my camera that I have had date stamped (please don't ask why - it's very complicated) . I converted them from RAW to jpg (and date stamped the pic) and now I want to put that jpg version back on the camera but it wont let me.
When the camera is hooked up to the computer, I open the 7D folder drive then all the way to the root folder that normally holds the RAW files before I take them off the camera.
When I try to drag and drop the jpg version or even the RAW version it won't let be add it back.

Any ideas why?

Sounds very odd to me, especially since RAW photos are "date stamped" in the exif data to begin with.

You could try copying them to the card using a card reader rather than while the camera is attached to the computer. Not sure it would work though.

Oh, and as to why? Probably to keep people from being deceitful and manipulating photo dates / data or some such.

Why do you need the photos back onto the card?

Don't ask "It's complicated."

I've never had a problem dragging images to any folder level on a card with a reader. I do it all the time to drop off images to editors.

I'd tell ya but then you know.... I'd have to hurt ya. (I wouldn't kill ya)

This would just be a temporary thing. I'd take em back off in a couple weeks.

Jim Poor - Unfortunately, I don't have a card reader and at the moment I'm in a country that isn't privy to such technology. But thanks for the suggestion. I'll keep studying it.

you should be able to open the CF card as a normal drive, select the folder and drop it in.

Not sure if that works with the camera plugged in, but it works fine with a card reader

Yea, I think that's my problem. Since I'm doing it with the camera plugged in I don't think it's allowing me to do it. Like you said, I think it would work with a card reader. I've just never tried it this way before.

Look under "my computer" it should show the EOS as a drive.
