Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie to photography , I own a canon P&S SD890IS which i've been experimenting with for sometime. DPS helped a lot in understanding a few mistakes I was making , grainy pictures etc and I wanted something more comprehensive to guide me through everything at once instead of search for hours to understand photography lingo! I would appreciate if you could suggest any books, ebooks, online tutorials, guide books that would help me understand this from a beginner's perspective and help me grow from a P&S to DSLR as well as improve my post production touches. I just wanted something that doesnt assume that I know much about photography and helps me with balance of practical application and theory/rules of photography combined. Any help would be muchhhh appreciated ![]() Thank You ! Zan |

I've not bought it myself but I think this may be useful, and you'd be supporting dPS too!

I like Scott Kelby's books.' The Digital Photographer,' Vol 1, Vol 2, and Vol. 3. He writes as though he is on a shoot with you. For example,if you were to ask him how to shoot flowers when the wind is blowing, he tells you what settings to use, etc. By following Scott Kelby's instructions, I shot flowers on a very windy day and was very pleased with the results.
