Default Why do you do it and what type are you.

Why do you take photos and what type of photographer are you.

Just curious really.

I like the creative expression and cant draw or paint so photography fits perfectly. I tend more towards artistic stuff, sometimes to artistic and nobody realy gets it, i blame the art lessons at school for that.

I also love taking portraits and landscapes. Portraits to record history and memories and landscapes cause i lve something pretty on the wall.

I am afraid i am a bit of a camera snob too, sorry, its a nikon or nothing.

Well, my love is trains and old barns. Truth be told, I photograph what makes me the most money! Which is trains ,old barns, hummingbirds, babies, horses, flowers, mountains, balloons and whatever else my lens happens to see .lol
Weddings are not my favorite but they pay well.
I'm a camera snob too, I shoot only Olympus, nothing else will do

Forgive me for asking, how come if it's Nikon or nothing the photo you posted of a baby was shot with a Fuji?

I love the challenge wildlife photography gives me but I also love the peace that I get waiting for that perfect moment. Photography gives me the time to think.

and I think I won't be buying anything other than Canon equipment

My favorite subjects are ruins -- we have tons of copper mines around here, and the ruins are beautiful. Showing that spooky, decaying beauty is a trick, but a fun one.

I have a Nikon, but I don't particularly care -- it worked better for me. I recommend you buy whatever works for you.

Why do I take photos and what type are you? Hmmmmm.

I shoot photos because I love to create. Whether it is capturing what my eyes see as a form of personal expression or shooting (as of late) fashion created by designers, I get great personal satisfaction from seeing my work and it is even more gratifying when others "get it."

As for what I shoot.. Wow, I actually participate in many genres of photography. Let's see...

Glamour, Artistic Nudes, Erotica (NOT porn), Fashion, Portraits, Family, Wedding, Wildlife, Landscapes... the list is seemingly endless.

When I'm not shooting for profit, I just shoot what moves me.. anything that I see that says, "Hey, I look really cool right now with this light and shadow play working its magic on me." That's what I'll shoot.

For me, photography is another creative outlet for me. Music is another, but that's a different story.

I love macro photography. I've been doing portraits for the last few months and have grown extremely fond of it. I love interacting with the "model" and capturing his/her personality. Plus, I've done some actual model shoots; they have been a blast as well.

I take photos for myself. It's a way to relax and enjoy things. I love to take photos of old barns, buildings, trees, flowers, just about anything really. I am just a beginner and right now I use a Nikon Cool Pix L3. Not the best but I have taken some nice shots. I find myself going any where and every where to take photos. I've hung upside down from some trees over water to get some photos. I've ran to the edge of someones yard (their fence) to get a photo of this beautiful flower. It's always new and exciting.

Why do I do it?

- because I can lose myself in it. I can relax and simply enjoy the moment.

What kind of photographer am I?

- a nice one.

I can't classify myself I don't think. I guess I'm still learning and growing. I am really enjoying urban photography at the moment!

Why I do it?

Same here... I like art. I used to draw when I was growing up, but I stop when I was a teen. I was too busy chasing girls and playing basketball...lol Now that I have been out of practice for years, I can't draw anymore. I do have somewhat of an eye for art, I think I'm still developing those. I think that is an on going thing for any photographer or artist.

What type?
I enjoy portraits, travel, and I'm trying to get into photojournalism. I like for my photos to tell a story.

The fuji is our point and shoot, the only digital camera we have. Not my choice i am afraid and i tease my husband about it all the time.

I must admit i do like an olympus but growing up i was fasinated but this arrogant hot artist type guy who was a massive camera snob, so i kind of followed. I was heart broken to find out he was gayand was so embarrased i never spoke to him again but the arty influence and snobbery sticks with me. Hard to break. LOL
