Default PhotoShop CS4

I'm trying to save a photo as a .jpg

I click 'File' > 'Save As', then click the Format dropdown Tab, but there is no option to save as a .jpg.

??????

There is TIFF, Photoshop, PNG, FXG etc... etc...

This is frustrating me. How do I save as .jpg?

Thanks.

Alright.

So it appears as though the Jpeg format is not available when image mode is set on RGB, with 16bits Channel.

What does this mean?
Should I switch to 8bit? Or save as a different format?

What should I have my image mode set as?

Never knew it would be this complicated...

A .jpg is an 8bit filetype. You need to be in 8bit to save as a jpg.
16bit TIFF is best for printing because of the higher bit.
