Default Hobbyists - what do you do with your photos?

I'm just curious what other "enthusiasts" or "hobbyists" do with the bazillions of shots you take. Do you print and frame? Create photo books?

Looking for creative ideas...and just curious.

Old school 4x6 prints in albums for the most part but now I'm behind on my printing. 2008. Oops. I love the idea of photobooks but the archivist in me just can't seem to do it. Maybe for vacations...

I shot lots of pictures of my dog and his friends this past summer so I made a calendar and gave them as gifts. I've printed a few of my favorite pics out as art prints (nice matte paper), framed them, and put them on my walls at home. I enjoy posting them on Flickr too, it's kinda fun to share a few with the world. I started to make a book too but found that to be a lot more work than I had time for.

All the rest sit on my external hard drive waiting for a purpose :-)

I do a lot of digital scrapbooking....making layouts and journaling about the photos on a page similar to regular scrapbooking - only a lot less messy!! Google 'digital scrapbooking'
It is very addictive!! Sometimes I have all the pages printed into a real book or else just print each one out and put it in plastic sleeve into an album.

Here is an example:

That's an awesome idea, I can see how it could get completely out of control addictive.

I do a few things. I've printed and framed some of them which are on my dining room wall. I've also printed some of my favorites and made cards as gifts for people. I get blank cards and envelopes at Paper Source (extremely addictive, click the link with caution) and attach 4x6 prints. I put them in a stationery box and off they go.

Now I really like this idea! I've thought of doing this for gifts. Which ones do you order on that website?

Thanks! I order the A7 Blank Cards and blank envelopes (there's a link on the card page). They have some great colors. I've put some of the brighter prints on black cards and included a pen with white ink in the package.

Oh, and here's where you can get boxes...Photographer's Edge for white boxes, they're easy to order from and the boxes arrive ready to use. Or you can go to Clear Bags for boxes (and stretch loops) that are different colors, these ones you have to fold yourself but it's pretty easy. I hope you have fun if you give it a try!

If I shoot film, that's easy enough - scanned or developed + printed.

Digital can be really messy. I have a lot of folders I'm meant to get sorted through, but the energy required is not in my veins at the moment.
