Default Cost of canvas printing.

Hi,

I was in a shop today asking how much it would cost to get the photograph here printed on a canvas (50x60). They told me £105 sterling, now to my uneducated mind that seems like a lot of money, is it reasonable?

Theres a supermarket in Spain I can go to which costs quite a bit less I think. However I don't know if getting prints done in the supermarket is really the right place to do it.

I'm confused

Mods if this should be in post-processing/printing then I apologise you can move.

Thanks for all your advise.

Wes

Printing on canvas that size is going to be expensive. Perhaps you should look at some examples of the work done at the "supermarket" and see what they look like.

Anyone know where I could get a reasonable print at a reasonable price? Something to hang on the wall.

i have used thetimemanltd on ebay for my canvas prints. I have 2 and they're good quality (one in my front room one elsewhere) think it's either A1 or A0 and was around £25-£30 delivered.

The Time Man

Thats his site. But if you go via ebay its a lot cheaper.

When I enquired about canvas printing I have found it to be expensive too, I am going in to a shop today that a friend recommend was cheaper but I need to cheek out the quality.

There are lots of different ways to print on canvas. In general you get what you pay for (as long as you avoid the con artists) and the more expensive canvases will last longer before they fade or go saggy.

I've had two canvases done via www.canvasdezign.co.uk/ and the work is very good quality and at a reasonable price for what you get.

Do you mean 50" x 60"? That is a very big picture of someones face. When I print very large I mock the print up by printing it as a collage/jigsaw on my A4 printer and stick the sheet togther. Prints look very different large vs what the look like on a computer monitor and it can prevent a very expensive mistake.

If canvas is too expensive a cheaper option is poster printing (although you need a frame then and they are often as much as a canvas)

No I think they meant CM. TBH I don't think that was actually the size of the canvas they were showing me.

I just went in pointed to one on the wall and said that size.

What I want I guess is something approx the size of a 21 inch widescreen monitor. Or maybe A3, I'm not sure about aspect ratios too much.
