Default Beginner's Corner

Can we get a subforum over in the techniques area. Currently, for example, in the lighting forum, there are several posts about basic how-to-use-my-camera things. The posts aren't about lighting but about getting proper exposure or achieving proper WB. Or in the People subforum, there are several posts about what setting to use at events or parties, but what they really want help with is basic camera operations not related to people in particular.

I was going to direct them to a beginners area but we don't have one. Where can one go to ask general camera related questions? Perhaps the Other Techniques forum could be renamed or something?

That's a great idea! There's a whole section of beginners tutorials on the main page. Perhaps someone could post stickies onto the Beginners Forum.

I'll second this idea! the forums are getting to be very large now, and we could do with some more stickies at the top of each subforum listing the most popular or most useful threads...
