Another critique rule clarification.

If as a result of a critique are you allowed to post a second picture to a critique thread? I.e. to see if there's any improvement.

I'm pretty sure this is allowed...I've seen it many times where an edited or retake shot is posted in the original thread to discuss improvement.

Although the "rules" don't specifically state it, it is not frowned upon.

And if it's a change that specifically relates to the original picture (e.g. crop, colour correction, etc), it's much better to include it in the original thread rather than starting a new thread every time you make changes to the photo based on suggestions.

Personally, I think it is (should be) encouraged. Much more can be learned by "applying" the different approaches sugested by critique as opposed to just "considering"...

Yes - you are encouraged to illustrate the discussion as long as it is still around the topic of the original picture. That could include alternative takes, alternative post-processing or even a later reshoot.

Okay thanks everyone. I would have done this with a few old threads that I posted something for however the threads I'm referring to are pretty old at this point and I don't want to necro bump them.

I will keep it in mind for future critiques.
