Default How did you come up with your name?

I am currently looking into purchasing a domain name, I want to use it for my photography but also for my design portfolio. My name is, of course taken, so I am brainstorming for something to call it. The thing is because I am a graphic designer, and a lot of places ask for an online portfolio, I don't want it to be something with photography in the title, but I was thinking something with prints or arts is okay. I was just curious for those of you who have a business/website and didn't use your name how did you come up with your name?

I'd suggest using something along the lines of somethingImages or somethingVisual. That's nice and catholic, encompassing pretty much all the visual media, so you're covered should you end up branching out into videography on top of graphic arts and photography. ;-)

Love the idea of "....name + Images". Not so much the "visual". "Images" stands out to me as being both graphic design and photography.

I let my wife pick it. She just kept mashing terms together until she found something that wasn't taken. Being that I just got started, am still learning, and am a far cry from a professional at this point, I don't know if my route is the best one. I like the name though.

for me... I just smashed the two things I really enjoy together

Photography and Chess.

The def of Patzer is - a poor or amateurish chess player.

PhotoPatzer = A poor or amateurish photographer

keep slamming terms and ideas together, sooner or later something catchy will stick!

My parents gave it to me at birth James Garland Bryant, but you can just call me Jim. For some reason I've always used my name. But have gone by "Especially Kids Photography" and will do so again.

It's very frustrating, i would use Gina-Marie, but it's taken. Right now I am using JustDucky, but I dunno. I just don't want it to say photography because I need it for my graphic design portfolio, but I want to include the photography in it. It's driving me mad thinking of names!! I want something cutesy that I could make a cute logo with too, it just hasn't hit me..yet, but it will!
