Default iMac color calibration...

I don't know much at all about monitor calibration. I would like to see what I can find out from DPS. Should I calibrate a new iMac? If so, what should I use?

Either a spyder3PRO or spyder2Pro calibration device. But the light in the room where the computer is set up needs to be a constant light source. I keep my overhead light off and use a lamp with a daylight bulb that set up ontop a four shelf bookcase about five feet behind me.

Damned if I know anymore!

I've used the built in Mac calibration..Huey, Spyder2, Spyder 3 Elite, And spyder 3 with Color Eyes.

All gave different results. IMO, My personal preference would be the ColorEyes Display Pro with either of their offered sensors (Spyder3 or DP?). It gave the visually "best results"...but I guess there really is no "correct" setting....

Sucks too. I have no idea what you are seeing, unless you are using the same equipment and same calibration methods....

+1. Also I profiled my cameras, calibrated my monitors and profiled my printers. Complete color management.

Different color light source projected from overhead lights. Too bright. Here's more info at:

Camera calibration, does that basically calibrate the white balance of your camera?

Yes and creating your own presets. Read about it at ColorChecker Passport Review.

However, I also use a color meter for quick readings and setups.
