Default Please recommend a spot in Los Angles Airport to take pictures.

Hi DPSers,

I want to ask you a favor to the members that live in Los Angeles area:

Does anybody knows where can I go to take some airplanes pictures in LAX?.

I would like to know if there is a recommended/typical spot to take photographs in the aiport area. Obviously should be a not prohibited spot, it is not my intention to be unlawful in anyway nor having problems with the airport authorities or the police.

If somebody has taken photos in the LAX area, please give me some guidance.

Thank you so much.

Do you mean actually in LAX or outside of it, but close to it? That might help get some answers for you. Either way I'm no help because any time I'm in LAX I'm running for a flight.

There are some beach areas that are directly in the normal flight path for LAX.

Thank you for the replies.

Actually I am not interested on taking photos inside the LAX, what I would like is to shot some planes taking off or landing and if possible on the the runways, so a near by spot should work for me.

I know I can head to Centurty Blvd. to spot some planes on its final approach, but I really do not like the neighborhoods on Century East.

@ Jim Poor: which are those beaches Jim?.

Thanks again.

Honestly, I left the LA area about five years ago and don't remember for sure, but we had a fe company events there.

Not that hard to figure out probably via Google.

Perhaps try calling airport security? They can tell you where and where not to go. That way you won't be worried about where you are and concentrate on having fun.

I did some a search via Google and came up with what so far it seems to be the most popular spot: In and Out Burguer in Sepulveda Blvd.

I will drive there someday to checkout the spot, from what I saw in Googlemaps it look like there is a public park in front of that burguer restaurant from you can see the landing planes.

Thanks!

Yes, that is a great idea, I will find out the number and give them a call.

Thanks!

I did a quick check myself and came up with it. Dockweiler State Beach.

If you go to Google maps and type in LAX. Look just to the west and you'll see that the beach sits right at the end of the runway.
