Default Good photo-opportunity places near Ithaca NY?

Hello, everyone. Me and a few friends have began taking pictures with DSLR cameras. Right now, we're planning on driving 4 hours to Ithaca NY (we're from NJ) to the waterfalls in the area to try out our cameras and filters.
Can anyone tell me the exact location of a place in Ithaca or near Ithaca that is a good photo-opportunity place? We're looking to spend 3-4 hour just taking pictures.

Thanks.

I can't tell you about Ithaca proper, but if you end up going through the Capital District you should definitely check out the Cohoes falls (Mohawk River). After the significant rain and snow we've had they're second only to Niagara Falls. Which is one reason our local power company was known as Niagara-Mohawk (Ni-Mo) until they were bought out by the Brits.

No idea about Ithica, but if you are in NJ why not just stay here and go to West Paterson and take pictures of the Great Falls? Here a few samples:

There are so many state parks around Ithaca that it is tough to chose. Watkins Glen is great, but so are many others. I've been to Treman, Buttermilk, and a few others as well. Watkins Glen is a favorite (a couple of shots from it below).

Yes definitely check out Watkins Glen. It has been called the "Grand Canyon of the east." Also the Finger Lakes region in general with all its vineyards and lakes is beautiful. Eastman Kodak with the George Eastman house, international museum of photography is north of there too. Gotta check that out!
