Default Sore Loser

I'm not sure if any of you are familiar with the Addy Awards. (With over 60,000 entries annually, the ADDY® Awards are the world's largest and arguably toughest advertising competition.) But I went to the ceremony tonight and won the silver award. I am a very strong competitor and I was really hoping for the gold but I am happy out of all of the entries to take second place. (I guess) My real question is, how many of you have entered competitions and lost to someone or a company who you honestly felt was so much under qualified????? Honestly, I'm feeling a bit deflated and I'm just looking for a pick me up here.

signed - sore loser..

Take time out to hang loose after a tension filled crescendo of the ceremonies. Many thoughts will fill your mind, like a gushing river. Might as well fill them with good ones, not the negative ones of what might have beens!
Any competition with a panel of judges will always be flawed. Just look at the sports in Olympic competitions....
Admire the trophy which is a testimony of you beating 58,998 other qualifiers!

I always feel deflated if I don't win....I only enter if I feel "strong" about my entry...And sometimes I just can't understand how they came to their decision... but oh well...

Let's see how Canada deals with it after Sunday's hockey game.

You are all very sweet. I may have still been a little buzzin from the wine when I posted this last night. In the brightness of the morning sun I am feeling better about the silver. But just to clairify, there were not 60,000 entrys in my catagory... probably more like 50 or so. And it wasn't a photo it was actually a multi-media campaign that went from print to the web.... I can't post it here because it was for my company and I'm not sure how my boss would feel about that. I just didn't want you all to think I was THAT good.

With all those entires, you're extremely honored to have taken second place. Hell....I know i would be. You'll just have to try harder this year to come up with more of winner.

I'd be on cloud nine to have gotten to where you did. What an accomplishment!

I guess I'm confused a bit. If it's an advertisement why would your boss not want the additional exposure?
