Default Calibrated Monitor

Can anyone with a calibrated monitor look at this picture and tell me if it is too bright? When I am getting the picture printed at a lab, it comes out much brighter than it does on my computer. The faces are washed out and it looks over exposed. It is killing me trying to get a good print right now.

I just printed 5 different images in 8x10 and they are all destined for the garbage.

Thanks,

Scott

compression jacks with the posted pictures a bit...but it does not look overexposed or too bright. Your printer may be the issue.

When I want quick easy pic I will sometimes upload to the drug store and go pick them up. Convenient. But one of them consistantly prints stuff too light. I've asked and got the deer in the headlights response. I send them pics after I darken them 3/4 of a stop and they turn out 'right'. I also began looking for another local place to print and found one that prints without needed to darken them. They are also a drugstore. When I want studio level quality I send to a pro lab (colorinc) and have never had an issue.

Looks OK to me. I wonder if the print lab is doing an "auto correct." With the dark background, an auto correct could very easily result in over-exposure.

Looks good to me, problem is with your printer. Make sure you select the correct paper type when printing this makes a huge difference.

Well, just to let everyone know... I took the pictures to Blacks Photography (Canada) and it is a world of difference..... Night & Day, HUGE... I guess I should have known better than to go to Walmart, but they are half the price. Anyway, bottom line is you guys were right, different places will give you different results.

Thanks,

Walmart? They have idiots working there. At least Cosco trains their folks.......if need be go there. They know what color printing profiles are.
