Hello everyone! I have a question and I hope someone out there might offer advice. I started photography 15 years ago in high school, but lost interest until about 3 years ago when my wife gave me a DSLR. Since then, I have worked to buy new equipment (off-camera flash, new lenses, etc.) and, I think, my shots have improved dramatically.
Now, I want to display my work. I don't think it is good enough for public display (even in the local coffee shop), but it is good enough to hang in my office at my full-time job (yes, I don't get paid to shoot). I would like to create a small, rotating, "gallery" in my office, but interior design isn't my thing. I work at a bank that is very art-conscience, so I don't want to mess up. Any ideas how I could create a simple display to show off 8-10 images at a time? My office is 12 x 12 with 2.5 walls available for images. How big should I print? Is the horrible flourescent lighting bad for the images? Is there a printer and/or framer anyone would recommend? Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks. Josh |

Ok - I might be able to help here. I am an Art Director for a marketing company by day and I love to decorate my office / cube with photos. What I did was get some cork board tiles. You can order them online from amazon or ebay or blicks art supplies, they are pretty inexpensive. Then you can affix them to your walls either with nails or if you want something removable, in some places I used velcro tabs. Anyway, once you have the tiles the way you want them (they don't have to be side by side) you can take different sizes of your photos and place them on the boards. If you put 4 tiles together you can put a larger photo on it, and use 1 tile for a smaller photo. (you get the idea) It adds a little bit of a coffee shop type look to your office and makes a great canvas.
Just my 2¢ worth!
