Default Is your gear cut out for the Olympics?

Hey everyone,

I just read this article over at Pocket-Lint.com, that I thought was very interesting. It talks about the photographers that Getty Images sent out to the Olympics in Vancouver. Great read, but the thing that blew me away was the total price of the gear that they have with them.

Quote:
As for the kind of kit you'll need for the job, well, typically, Getty Images supplies its men with 2 x Nikon D3s DSLRs, a 24-70mm lens, a 400mm lens, a 500/600mm lens, a 1.4x teleconverter just to make sure, a tonne of spare batteries and a deck full of memory cards.
I totaled this all up adding 10 bateries and 10 high quality memory cards and I came up with $33,084.00 and that isn't even including tax!

Great read though... just thought I would share

Yup, you need gear such as that. I have 13 batteries............never know when there's no juice around to recharge them. Especially shooting in the cold drains the batteries rather quickly.

From Jim -------- Nikon lenses are make from discarded beer bottle glass. Why do you think there's a reason why you see so many "White" lenses are major games.
