what do you have in the way of equipment...I get some of my best car photos using a Canon G2 P&S with the flip out LCD.
*Take advantage of angles and details on the cars...anyone can shoot full frame pictures of cars. (some of those are OK too, but typically not the most interesting)
* on some shots consider using your widest angle lens to get a piece of the car along with some background activity
* Flash, only when you have to
* Use your fastest lens
* get creative on your shooting vantage point (if possible)
* shoot the lovely models if they're working the show
* shoot people gawking at the cars too..they can be real interesting and unknowing subjects

Just a few things to consider

Vinnie

For lens I have a 17-50/ 2.8 , 24-105/4.0L, 70-200/4.0L so Im thinking the 17-50. I have cannon 40D. The show is in Calgary, Canada. Was not sure to use the flash or not.

You have some glass options, and depending on how much you want to lug around will be your call...all of them probably can be used for various shot options. Have fun...lucky guy

It was a model I shot last year that sent me an e-mail about the show. She is working the show, so I should get some cool model shots as well. thanks Vinnie.

Cars have characteristics like humans. That's what you're looking for. That's my mind set, anyways. How best to project it's character. Don't forget the interior. A lot of people do. Don't be afraid to talk to the owners. They can give you invaluable insight. And they do like to talk! I'm assuming indoors, so fast lens a must.

I went last night, but that info will be good for next time. And you're right I did miss almost all interior shots. It was tougher then I thought but still had a great time. I have what I liked on my flickr.

Some nice shots. Really got the charactor of the Roadrunner. Well done! Looks like they had some nice lighting for you as well.
Did you give the Fonz a thumb up?
