Question Auto, or Not?

How do you prefer to shoot? Auto Everything? Auto Focus, Manual Settings? Manual Focus, Auto Settings? Manual Everything?

I'm so blind I need auto focus. But I try to do everything else manual.
Sometimes - I think I have set everything only to realize I left something on auto. (most of the time it is the flash)

A couple of my lenses are old, cheap and manual only. They are also brilliant bits of glass and they have got me into the habit of doing everything on manual most of the time.

I should say that Full Manual mode is harder to learn but it let you squish all features of your camera. I will go for Manual even if you came with more accident photos than good ones as I do...lol.

I learned on the K-1000 (old skool, auto nothing), so I it's a rare day that I choose auto, but it happens.

I learned on full manual, too, but I'm not always sure about my vision, so I do auto-focus/manual settings most of the time. Occassionally I manually focus, but not the majority of the time. But always, always manual settings!

I too have crummy eyes, so when using our 30D or 350D it's manual focus for me 80% of the time. My wife uses AF 100% of the time, but she's got WAY better eyes than me. When we get a 5D, I'll MF everything except for birds, or use full-time manual focus on USM lenses.

I forget that not everyone has the great vision I'm lucky enough to enjoy... I just got my first pair of glasses, and they're the weakest prescription available, lol.
