Default Moving from point-n-shoot to DSLR

New to DPS. Recently moved up from Canon SD800IS to a Sony a330. So much to learn. Looking forward to exploring the DPS community.

Welcome!

Have fun with the new dSLR. If you're anything like me, you'll soon go through an extreme "bokeh" phase, where every photo you take will be just to prove the point that you can blur out the background.

That's a phase!?

Damn, I'm still in it. I love shooting at f2.0. If I had a Canon 50mm f1.2, I'd be shooting at 1.2

Good point! I still shoot wide open fairly often - but I'm just a bit less obsessed with it than I was in the first few months after I purchased my Nikon.

Question Me Too!

Have just progressed from my Fuji S5600 to a Nikon D90 - it's all a bit overwhelming but am hoping to see an improvement in my photos. Any hints ?????:

Lesson 0: learn how to hold your camera. You'd be surprised how many people get it wrong...

*laughs* I just moved from a point and shoot to a Nikon D90 a couple of weeks ago. How long until this obsession wears off? Does it wear off? Ever?
