While I resisted at first, I'm finding myself getting much more out of DPS now. My new default is to click "New Posts" and make my comments accordingly. I'm actually visiting many more threads in Critique, General Chit Chat, and Gear now than I ever did under the old format. I have to admit, it's much more fulfilling.
Please share your technique or practices for keeping up on DPS! Maybe the way you're doing it now is more efficient than somebody else's, and they'll be able to get more out of it too! Thanks!

Great thread Jim I have wondered how everyone is using the new system so this is great.
I start with "New Post" which I too find that I visit a lot more different forums than I used to then I have more in depth look through the diffferent categories. I do find that I miss a lot of threads and sometimes only see them when they are in the "New Post"tho. I do have to double check before commenting that I'm in SYS and not in the Critique forum so my comments are suited. All in all I think the new system is better. PS Case in point I would never have gone in to the General Chit Chat forum before.

hmmm .... I know I am missing lots of posts in the new forum - and so unfortunately missing lots of good work. But then I was probably missing a lot anyway - you can't sit on here for hours!!!! So I have been tending to keep up with the SYS 365's and 52's projects page because I have my own 52 week project going on and we need to stick together!
But I didn't know where was a section entitled "new posts" - thanks for the tip - I will have to check it out. Ah - now I see it up in the bar at the top. Thanks!

I'm still trying to get used to it - not sure what I think of the new format yet. Must be a blonde thing.

Still use it largely the same way, to be honest: I bounce around mainly in the critique and SYS sections and post there, I also go to General Chit Chat, Technique, Gear and Lighting sections, but don't post there as often, since I still tend to be in "learning" mode on those issues as compared to other posters.
And if I haven't seen a post by someone recently, I'll use the advanced search feature to find all posts that they've started. It works well. I do like the new format of SYS. Much more manageable in terms of flow and pace. Sure, I need to visit a few more sub-forums, but it's a small price to pay from my point of view. |

Now I actually participate in the SYS sections a little....Never did before.
