Default New to DPS!

I'm new and am looking to learn about photography and such. Right now I just have a Nikon CoolPix L20, so not a lot I can really change setting wise right now, just having to work with what I've got. Like with macro mode, I can only get about 2in. to whatever I'm photographing before it will not be able to focus properly. I hope to one day have a Nikon D90, but it's not budget friendly for me right now. Any advice or tips on how to get the best photos out of what I have?

Thanks!
Sam

Welcome to DPS, Samantha.
I've seen some stunning images from P&S cameras. Just keep going and things will mold for you.
Perhaps I should give you my D90. Sorry. I can't.

Welcome! I used a P&S for years and years before I bought a DSLR (which is worth its weight in gold).

However, I truly believe that it's not the camera that makes a good shot, though the camera can help Good luck and practice, practice, practice! I do everyday!
