Default Apreture 3 has been released!!!

I did not see this post yet but what we all have been waiting for has been released... Well what I have been waiting for Aperture 3 has been released. I just hope they have fixed the hot pixle functionality to remove more automatically.

Apple - Aperture - 200+ New Features

At first glance it looks like Aperture 3 is about on the same level as Lightroom 2 interms of "tools" for image processing.

It has a few "toys" that LR doesn't have like "Faces."

I'll try it out for 30 days just to see if my opinion changes with a deeper look.

I like that the added presets... Yes I agree it is about like lightroom 2 however lightroom does not have the full screen edit like Aperture which I have fallen in love with.

Default Aperture 3

Well, JP has an opinion on what he likes. I have tried both Aperture and Lightroom 3 and I have to say that A3 is a huge WOW AWESOME. I do not like the interface or workflow of LR at all, even though it had some features that A2 lacked. Number one big bonus for Aperture is that it uses real plugins that do real things. LR uses only a few basic IO plugins that do not really enhance the image adjustment process at all in my opinion.

Big points for me...
LIBRARIES (Split, Merge, Import, Export, Switch Etc...HUGE FEATURE)
EDITING...sorry but LR3 has nothing on this. A3 is a total killer on the flexibility and detail in general image enhancement tools now. Hands down.
WORKFLOW. geez...the list of workflow improvements is really (REALLY) a hit list of what I wanted in A2.
VIDEO...yup...I Said HI DEF VIDEO with SOUND.

Downloading it now. SO EXCITED!

I've downloaded the demo for A3 and will give it a fair shot for sure.

I took a pretty bad fall on the ice yesterday and am basically immobile so I can't get to the office and my files. I'll definitely get to them eventually and load up A3.

I've kept choosing LR over Aperture, but as always I'm willing to give the new version a try just to see if / how I like it. I signed up for the demo version this morning before heading out so I'm just about to download it.

I downloaded it. I will wright a review of it later. I really like the addition of the ability in full screen mode to hold shift and slide a slider.. Inspector magically goes away allowing you to adjust an image that is filling your screen with out a distraction.

Aperture 3 is amazing compared to 2.
It's still memory-hogging though, and I was disappointed with the flickr export function (it exports sets only, not single pictures)...

I want to play with it as much as I can and hear what everybody will say in 29 days, but I'm pretty sure I'm finally ready to commit.

Apparently I'm still a LR fan I'm not sure I like how much it's getting more and more like iPhoto, and I still prefer LR. I'll admit that it's probably because I now like what I'm used to.

That being said, there are some really neat thing in Aperture 3. I like the little popup window for the effects, the brush works smoothly, and overall, it's run the best of any of them so far on the computer. It really does seem a huge improvement from V2.

I disabled faces and places, and removed the flickr email and facebook thing from my bar..
