BEGM83 - I assume you're watching it on UK TV, I've got a stream from US TV and I'm just enjoying the adverts while having a browse through DPS and Flickr

But yeah, first time watching 'Football' and have to say, give me Rugby anyday.
Hope we beat the French, I HATE losing to the French!

I've watched one football game in my life, and they was years ago when Cincinnati was in the Super Bowl.

It was a good game, I like the gutsy plays the saints pulled out. I was however disappointed with the commercials they all pretty much sucked.

For a game that has 1 hour of play time they managed to drag it out for 3 hours. This is main reason why I don't really care for football now. At the end of the game the players were barely sweating because they spend so much time sitting around for commercial breaks.

Watch a hockey game, basketball or soccer if you wanna watch a game where people are working their butts off until they almost collapse.

Watching football now is like watching golf or baseball with pads. Sure the players exert a lot of energy during plays but they typically have at least a minute or two before the next 5 - 15 second play is done.

With the amount of commercials this year there were times I wasn't even aware they were playing because of the constant commercial interruptions and replay after replay after replay then some commentary from some former player or coach who thinks they know it all.

I say cut the commercials, only have a break between quarters and really make those big o'l guys sweat. People will tune in just to see who gets carried away on the stretcher from heat exhaustion.

Now that's a game I can put some money on.

Many valid points, but it sure beats soccer or basketball - both of those sports are broken. Soccer you watch lots of action to see a scoreless tie or a one goal game. They need to make the nets about two feet taller and five feet wider. Pro basketball is just a game for tall freaks. You could start most pro games with 2 minutes left and the score tied 90 to 90. Basketball would be great again if they raised the hoop from the current 10 feet to about 12 feet.

Urgh football sucks. Bunch of prima donnas are football players!

Oh and what actually is the point of baseball? (sorry im on one now lol) i thought i'd give it a go trying to watch it as i LOVE Cricket so quite happy to sit watching men bat their balls to and fro round a field for a bit....but, erm, nope...failing to see the attraction there!

Ice Hockey, though, i agree is awesome!

Just my opinion. Think most Americans have no interest in soccer for the same reason. But heck, we can all like whatever sports we like.

Trent really liked the superbowl, here is a shot of him watching the game:
