Default Queston on Copyright of product pics from other site

I have a question, what is the usual way of using a photo from another source on your own site? Like to say what you have and take a picture from like google or bh stock photo etc?

Are places like BH likly to give you permission to use it on your own site for reference to your equipment you own?

1) Dont list your equipment on your website
2) dont use images to list the equipment on your website
3) The images used by B&H and so on are usually images provided by manufacturers. Strictly speaking, using them in such a fashion is akin to "citing" that page. Just send a link back and dont claim they're your shots.
4) Dont list your equipment on your website. Im serious.

Security issues? Or am I missing something else here.

It's not a security issue. Its irrelevant. If a client needs to know what equipment youre using, they can e-mail and ask. It's a camera, it has lenses. Its not like a client is gonna go "oh, this person has a canon: they MUST be better than someone else!"

It's, for lack of a better word, tacky.
