Default Had to share!!!

My husband took me out and bought me a Nikon D-3000 today! So excited to learn how to use it! I have the 18-55mm kit lens, and the additional 55-200mm lens! Any tips or tricks for shooting Nikon? I just switched from Olympus!

That sucks, I hear he bought his mistress a D300s -- oh well

All kidding aside, you might want to look into either the magic lantern guide or Thom Hogan guide to your specific camera -- they will teach you everything.

Haha! That bitch!

I'll definitely check out those guides. I did a quick skim of the user's manual last night, and it proved to be pretty useless, actually.

I actually thought my Canon 1000D manual was helpful. I would have liked for it to go into more technical details... but that's what DPS forums come in .

Make sure you know what all the buttons and modes on your camera are for!

lol... That is so funny!

but...
I have a D60, which the D3000 has replaced. The LCD brightness is what troubled me when I first got it. Make sure that you adjust it to your liking.

It took me for-freaking-ever to figure out how to take pictures in the raw format. Then I had to "upgrade" *wink-wink* my Lightroom so it supported NEF files. I have my first real shoot on Monday with my new camera... but for now I'm just tinkering around and taking snapshots. If I come up with something half-decent I may post it soon! Haha!

This may be because I fell asleep with it in my hands...
