Default Comments on Potential New Logo

Posted a couple of new tries on the second page of this thread.

Just added a couple more below the first two. And based on what someone else pointed out to me, this is not for watermark purposes. Strictly for business card and other business related literature.

I've been playing with some ideas for a logo. Here are the two options I have developed. I didn't use "Photography" in the first because I saw the camera as implying that. Then as I thought about it, I added to the second one just to see. I'm still not sure which I like best. The whole ideas is to play off of "RSP". Looking for your comments on this.

RSP Logo

RSP Logo 2

Here are a couple more cuts at it:

I like the 2nd one better - the first one looks like it means "RSP Photography" - know what I mean? I'd keep the word "photography" in there.

The only thing I would watch is the amount of color - the more color you use the more expensive it would be for marketing material. Also xerox it in B/W and see how it looks. And the second one is best...

As far as cost of color, I understand that. I was trying to convey the RGB idea with the RSP. But I could just do all the lettering in black if I have to. I did do this in layers so it is easy to change. I have checked it in B&W. It translates well to B&W. Here is the result:

RSP Logo B&W

I kinda figured that was the reasoning behind the colored letters - might work well to do colored letters but on a white BG? The yellow is a bit bright, by that's only my opinion.

What I was trying to do was get it to stand as a block, which is why I used the color background. I then applied a custom frame to get the edgy look. Frankly I would have really liked to have done a grey background color. I'll work on it. Overall, I'm kind of happy with the look and feel of it. It translates very well whether very large or very small -- which is what I was aiming for.

Keep those comments coming.

It looks cool, full of life, and vibrant.
The B&W version could do with a thin outline of the text to make it tight.
Cool beans!

Still looking for more comments. What I personally like is that it (no matter the style) is consistent large or small -- and especially glad about the small. Which is a quality I think a good logo should have.

The B&W one or the last one.
Of course you have to ask yourself - where is this logo going to be placed? If it's going to a be on your watermarks etc I'd go with the B&W, color watermarks kinda make the photo look tacky and then the logo looks out of place instead of just blending.

This is NOT going to be a watermark. Strictly for business card and other business stuff. So I guess I should have clarified that in my original post. I should edit that post to indicate that. Thanks for pointing it out. I have a watermark that works just fine for me. I know this would muddy things up as a watermark.
