Default Hello

Hi my name is Paul,I am 44 and I live in the North East of England.
I was born I south Wales where I grew up and lived until I reached 30 years.
I remeber my first camera in 1975 was a big christmas gift but at 12 years old it was used rare as I had no money to get the films developed back then.
I have had digital cameras for a few years now but It was only ever to take snaps of my sons.and a few if I was away somewhere.
I have always wanted to be a little better so this christmas my partner bought me a fuji S1500.
I wanted another camera and she managed to convince me that I may find this an option to practice in case I get bored with it.
I agree as she is always right.I wont tell her that obviously.

2 weeks ago I was unaware that the simplest (hold shutter half way to focus) was useful. So I booted up itunes and downloaded loads of podcasts and have listened and looked and then listened and looked again.I have learned so much already.
Now its time to start with the forums.

So Hi

Hi Mr Boyo! Yes, wise words from your better half, hehe! Seriously though, always good to start off somewhere and just make sure you want to invest more time and effort, before you invest the money. Something you could consider is loaning a DSLR at some point in the future so you can play around with it - there are various options in the US for loaning camras/lenses etc for a defined length of time, so there are bound to be similar options back in the UK.

DPS is also a wonderful place to hang out and get advice, tutorials, tips etc, and just to make fun new friends and share your own pics around.

Nice to meet you, and please share some of your own photos sometime too.
