Hi,
I am fairly new to Digital Photography (from a technical aspect). Just invested in my very first Digital Canon SLR camera.. I am interested in learning how to use my manual settings like the pros and technical aspects of photography.. Would like to pick up a couple text books, or books to keep as a reference during my learning process.. I would prefer one that just deals in taking the photos and not so much in editing. I need the help of all you very talented artists/photographers to lead me in the right direction.. If you could recommend one or two good resources I would be so appreciative.. Thanks Much for your time! |

I recently picked up "The Tao of Photography" from my school's fine arts library. It's a relatively popular photography book. It's not about technique, but rather learning to "see". I knew all this before I got it, but I was still kind of disappointed. There's a lot of Taoism, and drawing parallels between photographic seeing and Taoism, which I just didn't find that interesting. Other things on my photography reading list, which I haven't picked up: - Understanding Exposure - Bryan Peterson - The Photographer's Eye - Michael Freema - The Moment It Clicks - Joe McNally - The Hot Shoe Diaries - Joe McNally - VisionMongers - David duChemin - Within the Frame - David duChemin If anyone has read some of these, please mention how you liked it! |
