Default HDR in black and white??

I apologize if I am asking a stupid question, but has anyone tried using HDR on black and white images or is it just applicable for coloured ones? In case it is used, can anyone please show me some examples?

Thanks!!

Interesting question, and I don't have the answer...But if it hasn't been done, there is no reason it "shouldn't" be done....

I don't do HDR but I have seen them in B&W.

If you've got black and white images, you can make a very effective (and often more realistic looking) HDR image. You can also get very nice black and white from a colour HDR image that is premade.

Both work very well.

Default HDR in Black and White

This is an HDR image in Black and White.
The original image would have washed out the lake due to high noon sun, and the shadows of the trees and the leaves and branches would have been all blacked out.
Cheers.

Hi Kate!
This is Watsons Bay in Sydney, Australia.
The JetCat high speed commuter ferry docks every hour on the wharf to take you to Sydney CBD.
Cheers!
